The Farms
We strive to malt grain grown exclusively in the Willamette Valley. At Tiller Malt, we take pride in collaborating with farmers who share a common thread though utilizing sustainable farming practices. In 2017 and 2018, our raw grain was supplied by Dobbin Farms, located in Hillsboro, Oregon. Comprised of three generations of farmers who share in the vision of vertical integration from farm to table—or in our case, from farm to pint. Over the last 2 years, Dobbin Farms has grown Full Pint variety barley for Tiller Malt, producing roughly 3-tons.
In 2018, we also collaborated with Farm Fresh, from Rickreall, Oregon, owned and operated by Jeff’s fellow firefighter, Jerry Freeman. Farm Fresh grew three acres of Genie variety barley, of which, approximately 3-tons were harvested, exclusively for Tiller Malt.
